Supervisor Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following (other duties my be assigned):
Examines vehicle and discusses with supervisor nature and extent of damage or malfunction.
Plans work procedure.
Raises vehicle and/or equipment with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
Removes unit such as engine, transmission, differential, etc.
Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
Repairs and replaces parch such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearing and other equipment parts.
Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, and various equipment parts.
Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks. Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.
Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns, front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator.
Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.
Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.

Education and/or Experience:
No prior experience or training.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of United States currency and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, vehicular traffic near work area and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

The employee will be required to wear all safety equipment as mandated by Company Safety Policies.
